Founded in 2000, Softwire has grown into a multi-million-turnover business, trusted by well-known organisations across the public and private sectors to deliver their high-profile digital projects.

We’re completely independent, owned by our original founders who remain involved in senior roles. And this gives us the freedom to focus 100% on ensuring everything we do is geared towards helping our customers succeed.

Underpinning your success are our three key pillars: our people, our culture and the way we work. Read on to discover more about each.

Our people love working for us – and for you

Our people are our biggest asset. We place enormous focus on recruiting the best talent, from apprentices to university graduates and experienced professionals.

We then nurture our people to help them grow as professionals in a fun and supportive environment. Our learning and development programme and promote-from-within ethos empower our employees to build long and rewarding careers with us.

And it works: many of our people, including directors and senior delivery staff, originally joined straight out of school or university, and stick around because they feel motivated and love coming to work here. It’s one of the reasons we’ve been in the top 25 of the Sunday Times Best Small Companies To Work For rankings nine years in a row.

For you as our customer, all of this gives you the confidence your project will be delivered by people who are brilliant at their jobs and love what they do. And this rare combination results in the best-possible outcomes. It also makes working with us genuinely enjoyable – just ask our customers.

“Overall, working with Softwire was light and easy and fun. Their workshops were real highlights in our diaries, and people here were eager to get involved and be part of this way of thinking and working. As a partner, they were absolutely fantastic.” Penny Walker-Robertson  – Head of The Fleming Fund

Our culture is to work in your best interests

We see ourselves as an extension of your team, working towards the same goals as you, and always doing the right thing. We’ll listen to what you need and apply our deep business and technical expertise to give you a solution that meets your needs today and in the future.

If we believe what you’re asking for won’t address your underlying business challenge or isn’t cost-effective, we’ll proactively show you better ways. Equally, if you could achieve what you want by simply tweaking or repurposing an existing system rather than building a new one, we’ll tell you – even if this means you spend less money with us.

Our working approach provides the flexibility you need to create exactly the right solution

We take a pragmatic approach to ensure you get a solution that meets your business aims, while balancing cost, timescales and functionality. In some cases, bespoke development will be the best approach. In others, customising an off-the-shelf product or re-using applications you already have will be the way to go. Sometimes it will be a blend of all three. Our independence means we’re free to choose the path we believe will serve you best in the long term.

And we understand that requirements can evolve. If you need to make a change part-way through, we’ll always do our best to accommodate it, both operationally and commercially. If it’s a bigger variation, we’ll explore ways to achieve what you need, while keeping within your budget.

Because ultimately, we believe in doing the right thing and helping you succeed.
