Harry Cummings

Harry studied Mathematics and Physics at Warwick, graduating with a first class Master’s degree. He has worked at Softwire for over ten years, joining as a developer and gaining experience as a technical lead and project manager before taking on his current role as a senior technical consultant.

He has worked with large corporate clients across sectors including finance, media and travel. His extensive experience allows him to take a holistic view of each project, adapting his own role to maximise his contribution to the team, forming a productive working relationship with each client and shaping technical processes to meet their needs. Harry has an active interest in sharing and nurturing software development best practices through training and mentoring. He has spoken at conferences including NDC and SDD on topics such as test automation and JavaScript development, and is the author of a textbook on Node.js.

In his spare time, Harry is normally found playing some kind of musical instrument. He has organised various bands and gigs in and around Softwire, and is an active member of London’s vibrant choir scene. Harry also enjoys running, and not only is it his preferred mode of commuting, he also completed the London Marathon in 2017 (raising money for Mind, the mental health charity).
