Joe Edwards

With over 12 years at Softwire, Joe is Senior Technical Principal at Softwire and currently a Lead Architect of the GOV.UK One Login programme, where he defines technical strategy across service-facing integrations and user-facing authentication and account experiences. His work focuses on building secure, scalable foundations that enable better designed public services.

Joe has led and contributed to a wide range of complex digital programmes across public and private sectors. This includes modernising consumer-facing insurance platforms for RSA (now Intact), refreshing the Royal Opera House website, building systems to ingest millions of articles into the BBC Monitoring platform, and scaling a telecoms system serving more than 90 million users.

Alongside delivery, he has a strong track record in people development. He has designed and run multiple Tech Lead bootcamps and spent a year running Softwire’s academy, delivering training for new starters.
