Softwire again named one of the best mid-size companies to work for in the UK – and number three in London

Digital engineering and innovation agency also named among top five technology businesses nationwide.

Softwire, the digital design and software engineering agency, has been named among the best companies to work for in the UK, for the 11th year in a row.

In the prestigious 2021 Best Companies Lists, Softwire sits 11th in the Top 100 best mid-sized companies nationally, and also secured a ‘world-class’ rating for employee engagement – the highest level of Best Companies Accreditation.

Top-5 tech business

In addition to the main rankings, 2021 saw the launch of regional and sector-specific listings. In these, Softwire placed third in the top 50 best mid-sized companies in London, and fifth in the national ranking of tech businesses – alongside some very big names in the industry.

The Best Companies lists, formerly the Sunday Times Best Companies lists, rank organizations based on feedback from their employees, which they submit confidentially to the organisers.

Highest standard of workplace engagement

In addition to its position in the Best Companies Lists, Softwire achieved a ‘world class’ Best Companies Accreditation. This is awarded to companies that demonstrate the highest standard of workplace engagement. Softwire’s accreditation is based on its BCI score, which is generated by the survey all employees filled in.

Chris Harris, Director of People and Culture at Softwire, said: “We’ve had 20 years to embed a culture of looking out for one another and achieve amazing things by pulling together. I believe that it’s this that enabled us to come through the challenges of 2020 in such great shape.

“The benefits of engagement are clear: when we have a loyal workforce that sees solutions where others see problems, and that feels empowered, energised, and supported in doing whatever’s needed, we can deliver extraordinary results for our employees, customers, and for the business as a whole.”

Andrew Thomas, Managing Director, added: “When it comes to finding and retaining the best talent, the tech sector is one of the most competitive in the world, with good people able to pick and choose who they work for. We work extremely hard to create an environment that attracts the best and brightest in the industry, provide them with the freedom and opportunity to grow and to use their talents to achieve outstanding results. To be named in the top five best technology companies to work for across the UK is a real credit to everyone at Softwire who works so hard every day to make us a company that it is an exceptionally exciting, fun and rewarding place to work.”
