Softwire awarded UK’s ‘Best Large Company To Work For’ 2023

Leading digital technology consultancy, Softwire, gains the top spot as the best large-sized company to work for in the UK, in 2023, according to independent workplace engagement specialist Best Companies.

Along with the national award, Softwire was also recognised in three other award categories in the Best Companies Lists 2023, and retained its 3-Star accreditation, identifying Softwire as a ‘World Class Company to Work For’ for the 13th year in a row.

Overall, Softwire won four awards in this year’s prestigious ranking lists:

Best Companies is an independent organisation dedicated to creating better workplace engagement. It publishes the Best Companies lists (formerly the Sunday Times Best Companies lists), which rank organisations in national, regional or sectoral league tables.

In addition, its accreditation programme recognises organisations that genuinely value their employees and is considered the standard of workplace engagement in the UK.

Proud to be awarded the #1 best large company to work for at a national level

Softwire’s Managing Director, Andrew Thomas said: “I’m extremely proud of every single person at Softwire. We have always cared deeply about the culture of our organisation, and today’s award by Best Companies recognising Softwire as the best company to work for nationally is recognition of the commitment of everyone who works here to making Softwire the unique place it is.

“It all began with our founders’ vision for an organisation they wanted to work for, where people are trusted and free to do their best work, and to have fun doing it. It’s a vision that is widely shared and vigorously upheld and defended at all levels of the organisation. This is not always easy, but it is essential to who we are – by really sweating the small stuff and continuously listening to feedback we make sure that, even as we grow, we hold on to what made Softwire special in the first place. It’s enabled us to attract an amazing group of some of the brightest minds in the industry, and makes me excited to go to work each day knowing we’re building something special.”

Maintaining our award for the highest standard of workplace engagement

Softwire also retained its accreditation level:

AccreditationSoftwire achieved a three-star ‘World Class’ accreditation

A Best Companies Accreditation is part of a nationally recognised programme, which provides accreditations ranging from ‘Ones to Watch’ status to a ‘3-star Accreditation’. The latter is only given to companies that demonstrate the highest standard of workplace engagement. We’re very pleased to have won this level of award for the 13th year running.

Chris Harris, Director of People and Culture at Softwire, said: “What’s really exciting about this achievement is that it follows a few years of focusing on becoming a great place to work for a much wider variety of employees – different roles and specialisms, all genders, races, ages and educational backgrounds – it is wonderful to have it confirmed that becoming a more diverse and inclusive organisation can improve the workplace experience for every one of our employees.”
