Laura Hughes

Masterminded the Softwire Charity Auction which raised over £11,000

Laura studied for a PhD in Theoretical Cosmology at Imperial College London. She enjoyed programming during her studies and was attracted by our culture of hiring smart grads without a background in computing.

Laura will tell you she’s never had a bad day in nearly three years at Softwire which made her perfect for her stint as Morale Officer. She’s now turned her expertise in organising creative and fun events to fundraising efforts as Softwire’s Fundraising Champion.

She plays classical guitar at a very high level, and also formed her own rock band. Ever since they were snapped up by a label, she spends her evenings and weekends gigging, releasing records and making videos.
